Meet Charlie, my vintage single-speed road bike. I used to drool over this bicycle during my schooldays, but somehow I could never convince dad to get me one. I tried, but his excuse was the drop-bars might damage my spine. Well, I wouldn’t blame him for thinking so because those days, there weren’t many road bikes around and so the average person wouldn’t know much about it. Fast forward a few years, or rather many years, and I somehow managed to get hold of one – that too in red! : )

{ The bicycle has been named after the character from one of my favorite Malayalam movies, Charlie. ]
Doors and bikes – two photograph subjects I love. Wonderful work capturing both subjects this week.

I have a bike with the same handle bars and it is so difficult for me to ride. It isn’t a cool red, either, so…

Ya, drop bars can be a bit difficult, but once you get used to it, am pretty sure you wouldn’t want any other handlebar! As for the bike not being a “cool red”, it’s pretty easy to change the color. Check out “vinyl wrapping” videos in YouTube. π
